Consensys, an Ethereum-focused software company, has announced the acquisition of Wallet Guard, a security tool designed to protect digital assets and data from theft, scams, and fraud. This acquisition aims to bolster the security of MetaMask, Consensys' popular non-custodial Web3 wallet. Wallet Guard, known for its browser extension that detects scams and wallet drainers in real-time, will be integrated into MetaMask to enhance user protection. The integration will improve drainer detection through transaction validation and client-side heuristics, providing real-time protection for users against malicious dApps. The move is part of Consensys' ongoing commitment to enhancing MetaMask's security features to safeguard against hacks and scams. MichaelKdcl, who joined Wallet Guard two years ago, will now serve as Senior Business Development Manager at Consensys.
