These attacks trick users into sending funds to fraudulent wallet addresses by hijacking clipboard data or impersonating trusted contacts. Security experts and major crypto platforms including Binance, KuCoin, and CoinMarketCap have issued warnings advising users to protect their assets by never sharing private keys or seed phrases, using hardware wallets, generating fresh addresses for transactions, and thoroughly verifying wallet addresses before sending funds. CoinMarketCap emphasized that it will never initiate direct messages asking for funds, highlighting the importance of vigilance against phishing attempts in the crypto space.
