In a significant surge of cyberattacks reported on October 22 and 23, 2024, various hacking groups have targeted multiple organizations across several countries, resulting in substantial data breaches. The RansomHub group has been particularly active, claiming responsibility for 36 attacks, with the United States being the most affected nation, accounting for 39% of the victims. Notable breaches include La Tazza D'oro in Italy, where the Monti hacking group leaked data, and Don Bosco Landser in France, which had 22 GB of data exfiltrated. Further incidents involved the municipality of Mauguio Carnon in France, which reported a breach of 75 GB of data, and Automha in Italy, where 308.9 GB of data were taken, with a ransom demand of $150,000. Other breaches included Lincoln University and Goshen Central School District in the USA, with 10 GB of data compromised in each case. The total number of cyberattacks across 29 countries reached 171, highlighting an alarming trend in cybersecurity threats globally.
