Cybersecurity Threats Surge: FakeCall Malware and 'Phish n' Ships' Phishing Scheme Target 1,000 Online Shopping Sites

Recent cybersecurity reports highlight a surge in malware threats targeting Android users and online shoppers. Researchers from Zimperium have identified a malware known as FakeCall, which deceives Android device owners into providing sensitive information. This follows a credential-stealer campaign that began with a warning from LastPass and has expanded to affect several major online brands. Additionally, over 1,000 legitimate shopping sites have been compromised in a phishing scheme named 'Phish ‘n’ Ships,' which promotes fake product listings and aims to steal credit card information. The Satori Threat Intelligence and Research team from SecureWithHUMAN has been actively monitoring these threats, emphasizing the need for heightened awareness among users.
