A recent surge in malvertising campaigns has been identified, particularly involving fake CAPTCHA scams that target users through deceptive ads. Over 3,000 websites are reportedly funneling traffic to these malicious CAPTCHA pages, which are designed to steal credentials and money from unsuspecting victims. The ad network, referred to as DeceptionAds, is delivering over 1 million daily impressions across these sites. Additionally, cybercriminals are exploiting Google Calendar and Drawings tools to distribute phishing links that mimic cryptocurrency websites. This multifaceted approach highlights the increasing sophistication of online threats and the urgent need for users to remain vigilant against such scams.
