
Google and Mandiant, in collaboration, released a report revealing a surge in zero-day vulnerabilities in 2023. The report observed 97 zero-day exploits in the wild, a 50% increase from the previous year. These vulnerabilities were connected to cyber spy groups and were used by espionage actors and financially-motivated entities. The vulnerabilities were exploited in enterprise tech, with a 64% surge in zero-day attacks. Microsoft Edge and Chrome were affected by these vulnerabilities, with specific CVEs identified. The report emphasized the importance of staying updated with the latest browser versions to mitigate risks.
