In a significant cybersecurity incident in February, hackers exploited vulnerabilities in Ivanti products to breach two critical systems of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The compromised systems include the IP Gateway and the Chemical Security Assessment Tool (CSAT), which contain sensitive information about the interdependency of U.S. infrastructure and private sector chemical security plans, respectively. CISA responded by taking the affected systems offline upon discovering signs of exploitation. The agency has not disclosed the identity of the attackers or confirmed whether any data was stolen during the breach.
