MegaETH Labs' official Twitter account was compromised on June 1, 2025, leading to unauthorized posts and direct messages containing phishing links. The hack also affected the account of the company's Chief Operating Officer. Despite having the potential to execute a large-scale scam, the attacker instead promoted a Solana memecoin using an Ethereum Layer 2 account, reportedly generating less than $20,000. MegaETH Labs has warned followers not to click on any links or engage with recent posts from the compromised account and directed users to their MegaPhone Telegram broadcast channel for official updates. The company is actively working to recover control of the account and has urged the community to exercise caution.
