A cybersecurity researcher, Jeremiah Fowler, has uncovered an unprotected database containing 184,162,718 user credentials exposed publicly on the internet. This massive data breach includes login information from a wide range of services, including Google, Apple, Facebook, Yahoo, and government accounts. The exposed data, which had no password protection, has raised alarms among security experts worldwide. In response to a related cyberattack, Ohio-based Victoria’s Secret temporarily took down its website and some in-store services as a precautionary measure. The company also issued a security notice to its U.S. customers following a breach in July. Authorities and cybersecurity professionals are urging affected users to change their passwords immediately to mitigate potential risks.
