A wave of online scams and impersonations has been reported, targeting social media users and organizations. The National Weather Service (NWS) Gaylord's Twitter account was hacked and used to promote cryptocurrency scams. Several individuals, including public figures and influencers, have reported fake accounts impersonating them to scam others, particularly involving cryptocurrency investments. Notable incidents include phishing attempts disguised as KYC requests and podcast invitations, as well as compromised accounts such as @cursor_ai and @notjohnlestudio. A Cointelegraph impersonator was also identified as part of the scams. Users are advised to remain vigilant and avoid interacting with suspicious messages, links, or accounts.
