Polygon's Discord server was compromised, leading to a phishing attack that resulted in the theft of $145,000 from a user. The breach, which lasted four hours, occurred shortly before the planned migration from MATIC to POL tokens. Hackers exploited the situation by posting fraudulent links claiming a 'pre-migration' airdrop and deploying fake support agents. Polygon's team has since regained control of the server, disabled external bots, and is conducting a security review. This incident highlights vulnerabilities in blockchain community platforms and underscores the need for heightened security measures.
