The Port of Seattle and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport were targeted by a ransomware attack last month, confirmed on Friday. The cybercriminal group Rhysida encrypted access to some data and disrupted port services, demanding a ransom of 100 bitcoins (approximately $6 million). Despite the attack, the Port of Seattle has refused to pay the ransom and remains on high alert. The hackers have stolen 3TB of databases, released some screenshots and stolen data online. The FBI is currently investigating the incident, which is attributed to a Russian criminal organization.
