
Multiple organizations have fallen victim to various ransomware attacks in recent days, highlighting a surge in cyber threats. The Udonthani Cancer Hospital in Thailand was targeted by the RansomHub group, which claimed that 'everything is down' and set a ransom deadline for August 10, 2024. In the United States, Sage Publications was attacked by the Akira group, which allegedly exfiltrated financial data and agreements. Community High School District 117 also reported an attack from the Black Suit group. The RansomHub group was noted as the most active this week, with 13 claimed attacks, while the U.S. accounted for 56% of the victims. We Level Up, a mental health treatment center in the U.S., had 100 GB of data exfiltrated, with a ransom deadline of August 6, 2024. Other notable attacks included Macadam Europe in Belgium, which lost 50 GB of HR data to the Akira group, and the City of Columbus, Ohio, where the Rhysida group exfiltrated 6.5 TB of sensitive data. Additionally, Schneider Regional Medical Center in the U.S. Virgin Islands was targeted by the Qilin group. The MEOW group added Dometic Group, PeoplesHR, and National Beverage Corp. to their list of victims.
