Multiple social media users have reported an increase in impersonation and hacking incidents on the platform X. Accounts such as @egecantcode, @AdammWeitsman, and @ryangerritsen_ have been identified as fake or hacked. Users are urged to report these accounts and avoid engaging with them. Despite numerous reports and outreach to X's support team, affected users claim they have received little to no assistance in recovering their accounts. Some users, like @tender_art, have experienced spam posting from their hacked accounts. Others, like Kevin McKernan, have complained about paying $8/month for verification without receiving adequate support. The issue has raised concerns about the platform's ability to handle security threats effectively.

Someone is impersonating me on Facebook. This 👇 is my one and only personal account. I'm enough me for the world, thank you. Always check the "joined" date if you get a suspicious friend request. Or ask first! https://t.co/6RkT1RvLUB
I am being impersonated. Please be careful. I only tweeted once today (and this is my second tweet). The below is not me, and my username does not have an "S" between the two names: mansourstarek_ Please block and report this user. https://t.co/mnUuGMCe4O
This account —-> @ryangerritsen_ <—- is an imposter. Please block & report if you have a moment. Thank you all.
