Spanish authorities have conducted a series of raids involving the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the residence of its former president, Luis Rubiales, as part of a corruption investigation. The investigation focuses on the alleged corruption in the deal to play Supercopa de Espana games in Saudi Arabia. The Civil Guard and Europol were involved in the operations, which also included searches at the RFEF headquarters and arrests made in an anti-corruption operation. Luis Rubiales, who is currently under a FIFA ban from football, has reportedly exiled himself to the Dominican Republic for a month, coinciding with the issuance of a warrant for his arrest by Spanish authorities.
