Japanese authorities have reported that the hacking group known as MirrorFace has conducted over 200 cyberattacks targeting various entities in Japan since 2019. A recent report indicated that 210 of these attacks were specifically directed at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and other Japanese targets attributed to this China-based group. In response to the allegations, China has denied involvement and accused the United States and its allies of disseminating disinformation. Additionally, a Japanese cybersecurity firm has identified distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks that affected 46 companies and organizations in Japan, highlighting the ongoing cybersecurity threats facing the nation.
