
On June 27, 2024, Kadokawa Corporation, a Japanese media conglomerate and parent company of Elden Ring developer FromSoftware, was targeted by the Black Suit ransomware group. The hackers claim to have exfiltrated 1.5 TB of data, including contracts, DocuSigned papers, and various legal documents. They are threatening to release the data, which reportedly contains very personal information regarding Japanese citizens, if their demands are not met.
