This move is part of Metaplanet's strategy to bolster its Bitcoin treasury operations amid growing tension over U.S. trade tariffs. The acquisition was made at an average price of $83,147 per Bitcoin, bringing the total cost basis of Metaplanet's Bitcoin holdings to $408.1 million with an average purchase price of $90,194. The company aims to increase its Bitcoin holdings by 470% by the end of the year, targeting a total of 10,000 BTC. Last month, Metaplanet appointed Eric Trump to its newly formed Strategic Advisory Board, citing his business expertise and passion for Bitcoin.
