Japanese medical device company Terumo Corporation has agreed to acquire OrganOx, a UK-based organ preservation technology firm and University of Oxford spinout, in a deal valued at approximately $1.5 billion (around £1.5 billion or 220 billion yen). OrganOx specializes in advanced organ preservation devices using Normothermic Machine Perfusion (NMP) technology, which extends the viability of organs by circulating oxygen and nutrient-rich solutions.
