Asia’s largest Web3 gathering, WebX 2025, opened Monday at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo, bringing together government officials, financial institutions and blockchain developers for two days of talks on digital‐asset regulation and use cases. Organised by crypto media outlet CoinPost, the conference is expected to host more than 1,000 companies and more than 100 exhibitors, according to the organiser. Japanese Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato and Digital Minister Masaaki Taira are scheduled to deliver keynote addresses, underscoring the government’s interest in linking traditional finance with blockchain technology. Industry figures such as Binance founder Changpeng Zhao and BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes are also on the programme. The main event follows the WebX Fintech EXPO, an invitation-only forum powered by SBI Group that wrapped up in Osaka on 22 August. That precursor focused on integrating blockchain with next-generation financial services. Organisers said advance ticket sales for the Tokyo sessions accelerated last week, leading to long registration lines as the venue opened.
