South Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC) has announced plans to gradually lift its ban on institutional cryptocurrency trading. This decision will allow corporations, charities, and universities to participate in the cryptocurrency market, marking a notable shift in the country's regulatory approach toward digital currencies. The phased rollout will begin in the first half of 2025, allowing certain institutions to sell crypto donations. By mid-2025, the FSC aims to open the market to approximately 3,500 firms. This move comes as South Korea seeks to enhance liquidity in the cryptocurrency sector and adapt to rising global participation.
