A crypto founder, who once proclaimed himself as a 'savior' of Puerto Rico, has faced backlash and criticism for failing to deliver on promises. The individual was involved in promoting tax breaks enacted in 2012, which aimed to boost Puerto Rico's economy by attracting mainland U.S. citizens to live and do business on the island. However, the initiative, often referred to as 'Puertopia', has been criticized as a scam, with accusations of it being a Ponzi scheme. The founder's vision of transforming Puerto Rico into a tech utopia has been met with skepticism, and there are calls for his expulsion from the island.
