Nelson Tanure Proposes Controlling Stake in Braskem, Novonor Shares Rise 9.15%, Sale Depends on Petrobras and Creditors

Nelson Tanure has made a proposal to acquire a controlling stake in Braskem, the largest petrochemical company in Latin America. The offer was presented to Novonor, formerly known as Odebrecht, which confirmed the proposal and noted that the sale of Braskem depends on agreements with Petrobras, Banco do Brasil, BNDES, and private banks. Following the announcement, Novonor's shares surged by 9.15%. The acquisition is contingent upon reaching consensus with the company's creditors.
