The S&P Merval index in Argentina is poised to close the month with a 20% increase, reflecting a strong performance in the local market despite the closure of Wall Street for the Thanksgiving holiday. In contrast, Brazil's Ibovespa index recorded losses during the same period. While U.S. markets were closed, European stocks generally rose, and Asian markets are expected to open lower, influenced by rising inflation in Japan and increased industrial production in South Korea. Notably, the Argentine stock market saw significant gains in November, with the Merval index rising 27% in U.S. dollars and local stocks achieving gains of up to 65%. The risk premium for Argentina also decreased by 23%. Following the Thanksgiving break, U.S. markets reopened for a half-day of trading.
