
Americanas reported a net loss of R$ 586 million for the fourth quarter of 2024, a reversal from a profit of R$ 2.56 billion in the same period the previous year. The company, currently under judicial recovery, saw its shares drop approximately 25% following the announcement of its quarterly results. In contrast, Vitru reported a net profit of R$ 194.4 million for the fourth quarter, while Equatorial achieved a net profit of R$ 1.50 billion during the same period. Despite the losses, Americanas announced a significant profit of R$ 8.3 billion for the full year of 2024, indicating a potential recovery trajectory. The company's president stated that Americanas is still far from exiting its recovery phase, with expectations to complete the judicial process by the end of 2026.
