CFPB Issues Consent Order on Insurance Policies, Highlights Solar Loan Risks, Orders Mortgage Servicer to Pay

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has issued a consent order related to a bank's duplicative force-placed insurance policies. Additionally, the CFPB has released a report highlighting consumer risks associated with private, solar-specific loans. The CFPB has also ordered a mortgage servicer to pay after violating a 2017 order. In other legal news, the Florida-based brokerage The Keyes Co. has settled commission lawsuits. The DC Attorney General has also settled with title insurance companies over an alleged kickback scheme, and with four title company joint venture organizers.
