
China is set to implement new regulations aimed at tightening control over data security and online competition. The State Council, led by Premier Li Qiang, has passed draft regulations on network data security management, which will take effect on September 1, 2024. These measures are part of a broader legislative effort to enhance data security management. Additionally, the State Council has discussed and adopted in principle a draft amendment to the Maritime Law. New provisions on online unfair competition will also become effective on September 1, 2024.
