The Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) has dismissed all allegations and requests regarding BBVA's takeover bid, except for the one submitted by Banco Sabadell. This decision indicates that only Sabadell will be allowed to participate in the analysis of BBVA's offer. Meanwhile, the CNMC has also decided to advance to a second phase the examination of Bondalti's takeover bid for Ercros. Additionally, the CNMC has stated that it requires more resources to comply with a government order against telephone fraud, and it has proposed deregulating the fiber network, which would relieve Telefónica from the obligation to share its infrastructure with competitors due to the emergence of new players like Masorange and Zegona. Minor shareholders of Sabadell plan to appeal the CNMC's decision to deny their participation in the BBVA takeover assessment.
