A South Korean court ruled in favor of Starship Entertainment, awarding the company 50 million won in damages from the operator of the YouTube channel '탈덕수용소' (Taldeok Suyongso) for posting false videos defaming Wonyoung, a member of the girl group IVE. The lawsuit was filed by Starship Entertainment, IVE's agency, against the channel's operator, identified as Park, who was found partially liable in the first trial. Meanwhile, in a separate legal matter, members of the girl group NewJeans are facing fines of $734,000 each as ordered by a Korean court for unauthorized activities. Despite a 74-day hiatus and ongoing legal disputes, NewJeans members have expressed affection toward their fans through a surprise message. The court also recommended a settlement between NewJeans and their agency, ADOR, but the group reportedly declined, indicating an irreparable divide.
