The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Walgreens, alleging that the company filled and billed millions of unlawful opioid prescriptions. In a separate development, Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond has accused CVS's Caremark pharmacy benefit manager unit of under-reimbursing pharmacies for prescription drugs. Drummond's lawsuit outlines 200 individual prescription claims that were reimbursed below acquisition cost to 15 pharmacies in Oklahoma. Additionally, an investigation has been initiated by former Louisiana Attorney General Kahn Swick & Foti, LLC into the officers and directors of CVS Health Corporation.
