Two individuals have been sentenced for their involvement in a dark web identity theft and retail fraud conspiracy, according to FBICharlotte. The duo, who pilfered more than 120 identities from state prisons and out-of-state victims, now face decades in federal prison. In a related case, Roman Sterlingov has been sentenced to 12.5 years for operating Bitcoin Fog, a long-running Bitcoin money laundering service on the darknet. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies, including FBIAlbany, have made several arrests in various retail theft and fraud cases, including a man accused of stealing over $100,000 worth of jewelry and a hacker sentenced to 10 years for stealing $20 million in home buyers' down payments.
