On September 3 and 4, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Department of Labor (DOL), and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) announced a new cooperation initiative to scrutinize the impact of mergers on workers. This initiative formalizes the exchange of information between these federal agencies to better review the effects of mergers on labor issues. The agencies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate this collaboration, which aims to enhance the scrutiny of mergers from a labor perspective.
