Fintiv, a Texas-based company, has filed a new civil lawsuit against Apple alleging the theft of mobile wallet technology used to develop Apple Pay. The suit includes claims under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and trade secret misappropriation. This legal action follows a previous case that took seven years to resolve and was dismissed in Texas. After the dismissal, Fintiv sought to continue its legal efforts by filing in Georgia. Apple has publicly denied the allegations, rejecting claims that it stole technology for Apple Pay more than a decade ago. The dispute centers on Fintiv's assertion that Apple unlawfully utilized its patented technology in creating Apple Pay, a claim Apple disputes and is defending against in court.
Two day after defeat, and one day after Fintiv went venue shopping to try again, Apple has publicly rejected claims accusing it of stealing technology for Apple Pay more than a decade ago. By @Amber_M_Neely https://t.co/aTzPvWRJeR
