Ben la Grange, the former CFO of Steinhoff, has entered into a plea sentence agreement with the state and has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, with 5 years suspended, on charges of fraud amounting to R376 million. The charges are related to the manipulation of the company’s financial statements. Additionally, serial rapist Nkosinathi Phakathi has been handed multiple life sentences in the high court sitting in Palm Ridge. Phakathi was found guilty on 90 charges of rape and 43 counts of kidnapping, receiving 42 life sentences for his crimes.
