Chief U.S. District Judge Alia Moses expressed 'some consternation' over the lawsuit's dismissal, stating that Jones' conduct raised a 'specter of impropriety' over the courthouse. The lawsuit alleged that the involved parties acted to preserve their business interests in Jones' court. Furthermore, Jones confirmed he is under criminal investigation related to his relationship with the Houston bankruptcy lawyer during a recent court hearing, where he attempted to deflect public inquiries about the matter. The hearing also revealed that three Houston bankruptcy judges have been named as potential witnesses in the ongoing civil litigation involving Jones.
