Jenner & Block, a Chicago-founded law firm, has bolstered its bankruptcy and restructuring practice by hiring Doug Spelfogel and Derek Wright from rival Mayer Brown. Spelfogel, who previously served as the co-leader of Mayer Brown's New York restructuring practice, will co-chair Jenner's bankruptcy and restructuring team. Wright, who was a restructuring partner at Mayer Brown, joins the firm in Chicago. The move comes as Mayer Brown's restructuring leader departs, marking a significant shift in the competitive landscape of legal services in the region. Additionally, Sidley Austin was recognized as the Class Action Winner in the Litigation Departments of the Year.
