Live Nation Entertainment has requested a Manhattan federal judge to dismiss part of an antitrust lawsuit. The lawsuit includes claims from dozens of states alleging that Live Nation and its ticket-selling arm, Ticketmaster, harmed event-goers by stifling competition. Live Nation argues that consumers were not harmed by its dealings with concert venues and promoters. The company is seeking to have several states' claims dismissed in the Department of Justice's lawsuit accusing it of wielding an unlawful monopoly. Live Nation has asked a New York federal court to toss claims from a coalition of states seeking damages.
