Migros, Switzerland's largest retailer, is undergoing its most extensive restructuring in a century, focusing on its core business after selling and closing several divisions. CEO Mario Irminger noted that the company aims to regain its footing following a challenging year, with the restructuring nearing completion. The only remaining sale is that of the Mibelle Group, which is taking longer than anticipated. Meanwhile, Kroger is embroiled in a legal dispute with Albertsons over their failed $24.6 billion merger, which was blocked by antitrust regulators. Kroger has countersued Albertsons, claiming that the latter undermined their merger efforts by collaborating with C&S Wholesale Grocers to inflate the number of stores that needed to be divested, thereby pressuring Kroger into concessions.
