Two Utah men have been indicted for defrauding investors and lenders of more than $167,000, according to the Justice Department. The pair allegedly claimed to have close ties to A-list actors and directors as part of a multi-million dollar investment scheme. Additionally, a man posing as a financial advisor was sentenced for stealing over $100,000 from a former client. This case is part of a broader investigation into fraudulent activities involving various individuals, including a Detroit nonprofit CFO who admitted to embezzling at least $44 million over several years, and a man involved in a $2 million timber Ponzi scheme. Other related cases include a Golden man sentenced to five years in prison for a national telemarketing scheme and a lawyer accused of stealing over $31,000 from a jailed client.
