The recent Avalanche9000 upgrade has enabled the development of permissionless Avalanche Layer-1 (L1) protocols, allowing users to transact and deploy smart contracts without central authority approval. NodeKit is playing a crucial role in scaling a network of interconnected L1s following this upgrade. The upgrade aims to reduce blockchain deployment costs by 99.9% and transaction costs by 25 times. In a successful testnet event, over 1.5 million nodes participated, with more than 100,000 nodes operating simultaneously. Additionally, over 27,000 node tokens have been minted, valued at approximately $33 million. BuildOnBeam has emerged as the first permissionless Avalanche L1, utilizing node sales to demonstrate a potential model for decentralization in web3.
