Cryptocurrency exchange Binance briefly halted all futures trading on 29 August after detecting a technical issue on its Unified Margin platform, which consolidates collateral across derivatives positions. The interruption rendered every futures contract on the venue inaccessible to clients. Binance said the outage began at approximately 14:18 UTC+8 and that contract-transfer services were suspended during the incident. By about 14:36 UTC+8 (07:06 UTC), the exchange announced the problem had been fixed and futures trading was again fully operational.
