Coinbase Global Inc. said on 10 July that it has formed a strategic partnership with Perplexity AI, an AI-powered search platform, to stream real-time cryptocurrency market data to traders. The tie-up gives Perplexity direct access to Coinbase’s live pricing feeds, including the exchange’s COIN50 index, allowing users to track price moves and liquidity across major tokens. Phase 1 of the collaboration, which went live on Thursday, pipes Coinbase market data into Perplexity’s new Comet browser for instant charting and analysis. A second phase, slated for a later date, will integrate the feed into Perplexity’s conversational interface so users can screen markets, monitor token-specific activity and generate trade ideas through AI-generated answers. “This new access to reliable, real-time data via increasingly intelligent LLMs will help lots more people make smart, informed decisions about crypto,” Coinbase Chief Executive Officer Brian Armstrong said. Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas added that the service will appear in user queries “shortly,” expanding the platform’s finance capabilities. The move deepens Coinbase’s push into artificial-intelligence tools as exchanges race to pair large language models with trading services. Coinbase shares gained about 4 % in early U.S. trading following the announcement.
