Ethereum surged past $4,700 on Aug. 13 for the first time since November 2021, according to price feeds cited by CoinDesk and CoinGecko. The advance leaves the second-largest cryptocurrency roughly 3–4 percent shy of its all-time peak of $4,878 reached on Nov. 10, 2021. The token has gained nearly 30 percent over the past week, outpacing much of the broader digital-asset market and reviving expectations of a fresh record high. Bitcoin also edged to within about 1 percent of its own peak, underscoring renewed investor appetite for major cryptocurrencies.
