
Ethereum Transfers Worth Hundreds of Millions Involving Coinbase Institutional, Cumberland, Beacon Depositor, and New Wallets
Between August 20 and August 24, 2025, multiple large transfers of Ethereum (ETH) totaling hundreds of thousands of ETH and valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars took place across various wallets and exchanges. Coinbase Institutional was a frequent participant, both sending and receiving substantial amounts, including transfers of 18,155 ETH ($77 million), 17,246 ETH ($73.9 million), and 10,780 ETH ($51.5 million). The trading firm Cumberland was also involved in several transactions, receiving and sending ETH amounts such as 17,245 ETH ($74.3 million) and 17,550 ETH ($74.9 million). Numerous transfers occurred between unknown wallets, with some transactions exceeding 70,000 ETH and values surpassing $300 million. Additionally, five newly created wallets accumulated 19,332 ETH valued at approximately $92 million over two days. Notably, large transfers were made to the Beacon Depositor contract, including three transfers of 30,000 ETH each and others totaling nearly 95,000 ETH, collectively worth over $400 million. There was also a withdrawal of 2,883 ETH (around $13.7 million) from Kraken to a new wallet address. These movements indicate active and high-volume Ethereum transactions involving institutional and unknown entities during this period.
