Crypto entrepreneur Anthony Pompliano is in advanced discussions to take the helm of ProCapBTC, a planned publicly listed investment vehicle that aims to raise about $750 million to purchase Bitcoin, the Financial Times reported. ProCapBTC intends to achieve a listing by merging with a special-purpose acquisition company backed by Cohen & Co., according to the report. If completed, the transaction would give the new entity capital to accumulate a large Bitcoin position, underscoring sustained institutional appetite for direct exposure to the cryptocurrency. Talks are ongoing and could still fall apart, the report said.
