The $POPE development team and insiders generated over $1 million in profits within two hours of the token launch by purchasing 5.8 million tokens with $100,000 USDC, selling 1.5 million tokens for $428,000, and retaining 4.3 million tokens valued at $685,000. However, the token's price volatility led to substantial losses for some traders, including one who lost $111,000 after buying $POPE for $200,000 USDC and selling shortly after at a steep discount. Meanwhile, a notable Ethereum (ETH) whale, who originally acquired 76,000 ETH during the 2015 ICO at a cost basis as low as $0.31 per ETH, has been actively liquidating holdings. Over the past two weeks, this investor sold approximately 16,500 ETH worth $29.35 million at an average price near $1,779 per ETH, including a recent transfer of 2,000 ETH (about $3.66 million) to the Kraken exchange. Despite these sales, the whale still holds around 13,500 ETH valued at $24.82 million. Additional smaller accounts linked to this whale have also deposited sizable amounts of ETH to Kraken, indicating potential further sales.
