The newly launched meme cryptocurrency, $MONKY, has garnered significant attention following a successful airdrop to holders of $APE and attendees of ApeFest. The airdrop, described as an early Christmas gift, was executed by the Real Floki Inu team, with thousands of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) members receiving over 107 million $MONKY tokens, valued at approximately $2,500 each. The trading of $MONKY commenced on KuCoin at 10:00 UTC on December 12, 2024, coinciding with the airdrop completion for $APE holders. KuCoin also announced that the airdrop would extend to holders of $FLOKI. The $MONKY token, developed by Forj, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, is part of a broader trend of meme coins gaining traction on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). Investors are now exploring the potential of $MONKY, with some reporting airdrop values exceeding $7,500. The launch and airdrop have sparked discussions about the utility of such tokens within the Web3 ecosystem.
