0xbow has launched 'Privacy Pools,' a new blockchain privacy tool on Ethereum, drawing from Vitalik Buterin's research. Privacy Pools enables private ERC-20 token transfers using zero-knowledge proofs and commitment schemes, allowing users to deposit and withdraw without creating an on-chain link between deposit and withdrawal addresses. The tool also includes mechanisms to screen deposits to avoid illicit funds. Vitalik Buterin has shown support for Privacy Pools by depositing 1 ETH into the protocol. Additionally, Buterin has sent 274.1 ETH, valued at $500,000, as a grant or donation to a contract deployed by 0xIsla, a developer working on Zuitzerland. In a separate incident, Buterin received a $400,000 market cap memecoin, which he immediately sold and converted to stable ETH.
