Yuga Labs has expanded access to its Otherside metaverse, allowing holders of Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) non-fungible tokens to enter the virtual world using their “Mutant” avatars, according to co-founder Greg Solano. Solano described the MAYC characters as the platform’s “most complex avatar builds,” saying the rollout is an early preview and that additional upgrades and technical refinements are planned. The move brings the second-largest collection in the Bored Ape ecosystem into Otherside, broadening participation ahead of the metaverse project’s full commercial launch.
