U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement offered a reward of $10 million for information leading to the arrest of Jesús Alfredo Guzmán Salazar, the 41-year-old son of jailed drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera. The agency said Guzmán Salazar should be considered armed and dangerous and urged the public to provide tips through a dedicated telephone line. Guzmán Salazar, known as “Alfredito,” is accused in U.S. federal indictments of conspiring to traffic controlled substances into the United States. He has been on the Drug Enforcement Administration’s list of ten most-wanted fugitives since 2018. U.S. authorities identify him as a lieutenant to his brother Iván Archivaldo within “Los Chapitos,” the faction that assumed control of their father’s wing of the Sinaloa Cartel after El Chapo’s 2019 life sentence. ICE doubled the reward to $10 million in June as part of a broader effort to pressure the group following earlier arrests of other Guzmán siblings.
